"Però è strano come un trenino possa cambiare la vita delle persone” Frase pronunciata nel film Holiday Affair (Tu partirai con me ), diretto da Don Hartman nel 1949. È un film commedia a sfondo romantico e natalizio basato sul romanzo Christmas Gift di John D. Weaver e con protagonisti Robert Mitchum e Janet Leigh. E' capitato anche a voi?

Beh,a me è capitato che nel 2000 in occasione di una gita a Roma,ospiti della madrina del secondo figlio,a sorpresa,è stato regalato uno start set Lima con l'ETR 450,poichè la signora sapeva della mia passione(più che altro dei treni reali)...4 mesi dopo tirai fuori quel che rimaneva della mia infanzia ed adolescenza Rivarossiana,dopo 25 anni di sgabuzzino e di fermo totale e da allora...eccomi qui con due plastici etc etc...se poi andiamo indietro è stata la mia nascita a far arrivare il primo impianto RR per mio fratello che all'epoca aveva 5 anni e mezzo. Il treno in foto sembra in scala 0,gli americanisti del forum che ci dicono?? Ah,ma le foto da dove provengono?il film è andato in onda in questi giorni?? Auguri intanto. |

Il trenino del film è un ibrido Lionel, perchè è composto da una locomotiva diesel F 3 presentata nel 1949, e da alcune carrozze tipo "Madison" (residuato della vecchia produzione Lionel pre WWII). La corretta composizione prevederebbe quelle aerodinamiche in alluminio, che però furono messe a catalogo solo dal 1952. Lionel ne fece due livree: la Santa Fe del film e la New York Central. Il palinsesto si basa sulla novella “The Man Who Played Santa Claus “ di John D. Weaver pubblicata su “McCall's “ nel dicembre 1948). La foto sono di Milton R. Krasner. Il film viene spesso riproposto da Rete Capri can 20 del DTT nella treamissione "Un sogno in bianco e nero" |

From Lionel Trains Library  Production: 1949 - 1952 History The 2343 Santa Fe F3 AA unit of the early 1950s along with the 2344 New York Central F3 AAs are considered by collectors and operators to be the best F3 manufactured by Lionel during the entire postwar era. Collectors seek these diesels because they contain the most features of any postwar F3. Operators pursue this diesel because of its proven reliability and durability. The dual motors and Magnetraction makes for transporting long freight trains around a layout an easy task. Externally, the detail is second-to-none. With features such as wire cloth ventilators, portholes with clear lens, cab ladders and grab irons on the nose, these features are still used by current toy train manufacturers as the standard for excellence. Features Standard features of each A units includes: Silver painted shell with red and yellow accents. Functional front coupler with a non-operating rear coupler. Illuminated headlight and number boards. Two metal ladder steps on the rear of the frame plus metal steps on each truck. Dual two-piece ornamental horns. Wire cloth roof ventilators. General Motors decal near the rear door plus a Santa Fe decal on the front. Pair of simulated grab irons on the front of the cab. Additionally, the power A unit contains dual motors, Magnetraction, functional horn and a three-position E-unit. Additional Detail, when coupled together, the length of the AA F3s is approximately 26" long (coupler to coupler).  - Large GM Decal - Shown in the photo above - For the 1949 and 1951 production runs, Lionel used a larger red-background GM decal. - Small GM Decal - For the 1952 production run, Lionel used a slightly smaller black-background GM Decal.
